How were we founded?

Stand Up is a nonprofit founded in 2021 at Arizona State University by Harkaran Sodhi with the mission of helping the underprivileged transition from the streets back into the real world. In 2023, Stand Up was established as a registered 501(c)3 in the state of Arizona, and since then, we have been providing the underprivileged with clothes, job opportunities, therapy if needed, and any other services needed for them to be able to stand up strong and confident, ready to conquer the world. With your help we are determined to change lives and make our community grow stronger together.

Why Were We Founded?

Stand Up Arizona non-profit is deeply rooted in the principles of Sikhism, a religion that embraces the core values of equality, selfless service, and unconditional love and respect for all. Founded on the belief that everyone is equal under the presence and unity of one God, our organization strives to create a community where compassion knows no boundaries. Inspired by the Sikh principle of "seva," which emphasizes selfless service, we dedicate ourselves to serving our community and uplifting the underprivileged. We firmly believe that by coming together, regardless of our religious beliefs, color, or social status, we can build a stronger, more united community. Our mission is to spread love, foster understanding, and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Together, we can stand up for equality, serve with compassion, and create a world where everyone is valued and respected.
